  Georgia Delta 8   Georgia Delta 8  is suing to have a court declare that pot's main intoxicating ingredient is illegal. The chemical, delta-8 THC, is mostly made from CBD, a non-intoxicating compound found in hemp. Delta-8 is a very popular drug in the United States, and both the cannabis industry and state governments have struggled to deal with it. A law firm in Atlanta filed a lawsuit following threats by the  Gwinnett  County district attorney to prosecute businesses that sell products containing delta-8 or a similar chemical, delta-10.     According to the suit filed by Pate, Johnson & Church, District Attorney Patsy Austin–Gatson stated in January that delta-8 possession, sale, or distribution is against state law.
